I usually don't bother to download something unless I absolutely fall in love with it. You know, the kind of things you think will really boost your gaming experience, not just the cute ones.
But I've been reading a lot about geneticized skins lately, and the idea of having more diversity was really really tempting.
I only had to choose which ones I wanted. But that was much harder than it seemed.
Because I made my mind that I could have a really dark skin now as default (at least to me, the Maxis dark skin seems rather light) and several in-between skin colors between the light and the dark one.
Nothing worked for me, because all the CC skins defaults just added the darker shades as "darker than the darkest default" and for my sturborn obssesive mind it should no be like that.
So.
I got this beautiful skintone set by PeachT, created my defaults, geneticized them and made them townie-friendly as well.
It took me a while because it was my first time doing all those things, but I must admit that the result is beautiful -and what's even better, now I have 7 different skin colores which are actually arranged the way I want them!
Now my NPCs looks like this:
I have tons of pictures of this last round in Strangetown. Seriously, tons. Of all them, even if nothing of interest happened in their house.
I also saved the loading screen pictures when I finished, so I could see all the members of the household together (to notice the subtle diferent shades in skin colors).
So this is a warning: the rest of this post is image heavy!

The Beakers
Circe looks absolutely gorgeous as an elder. Her son Tantos and Loki's alien daughter Gudrun are having dinner.
The Grunts (Tank and family)
Melania became an elder on this round.
Her alien daughter Mercedes is here with her, wearing her private school uniform.
Tank's children, Fusco and Bronca, are now in La Fiesta Tech college, so they have their own household.
Bronca has been flirting with her high school boyfriend, Jaime, but her half-brother Fusco is thinking about commitment and proposed to Minnie Pintofreson (which btw was one of her fears!).
The Grunts (Buck and family)
This happy family enjoys spending their time together. For a simple meal or to celebrate a birthday.
(Buck and Higinio's oldest child, Alba, and her husband Zangano were also invited.)
Beautiful child Emma graduated in this round and moved back to her parents place.
First pic is as a young adult, second one as an adult.
The Amor (Ripp and family)
Ripp was once a Grunt, but he took his wife's surname to prove he did not want to know about his father.
Has a decent relation with his younger brother though.
Lila is doing well enough at school, but her twin brother Pendon is quite a bad student.
The Smiths
Zangano married Buck Grunt's child Alba, and she is now pregnant.
They live in the Smiths house with his eldest sister and her loyal old dog.
The Nigmos
Johnny also took his wife Ophelia's surname when they married, because her lineage seemed more important. Now they live together with lots of pets and a cowplant in her haunted mansion.
In this round they celebrated their anniversary (hence the fancy clothes) and his sister and their children were invited.
Their children Jaime and Olvido went to the university and live together in a fancy house in which they spent all their family savings.
These three brothers have always been very special.
Mad scientists, abducted by aliens, and now vampires.
They live with Vidcund's and Lazlo's alien offspring. Minino is an adult and Benjamin is a teenager -and good student.
The Guevaras
Pascal Curious' daughter, Kitty, married an university professor.
Their eldest children have just become teenagers and their youngest turned toddlers in this round too. (Both are twins.)
The Singles
Two of the original Singles were the Curious brothers half-sisters. Only Lola is still alive (and no longer a vampire thanks to the potion she drank in this round).
She lives with Kristen, one of her original flatmates, and Clara, a very mysterious foreign woman who graduated from La Fiesta Tech earlier.
The Picasos
Another militar pre-made family. I moved them in because they became good friends of the late General Grunt, and now they have two children.
Pablo is a fancy teenager and the other one has just celebrated his birthday and became a toddler.
The Rocamoras
One of my favourite families.
Gunnar loves many women, including his two former college flatmates, who have a very open relation with him. Each of them gave birth to one of his children.
Now he is a vampire and expects to keep seducing inhabitants of Strangetown for all eternity.
Jasmin's child, Luis, is the most responsible of the two. He is now dating the cute Mercedes.
The Valemutxo
Francisco meant to become rich, but he never suceed.
He married one of his former college proffesors out of despair -after being rejected by Bella Goth- and now has an only son who happens to be dating the Picaso's child.
The Versos
DJ and Monica belonged to the same sorority, but it took them quite long to realize that the reason for not being interested in any of the guys they met then was that they simply were not interested in guys. At all.
They adopted a child, who is now a bit ill.
The Pintofresons
Jesusa lived with Monica and DJ in the sorority.
Back them she used to date as many guys as she met, but after she married she became really faithful to Mateo -and focused on her career.
Both of their children have already left the nest and they live alone.
Miky sometimes visit.
He is studying in La Fiesta Tech. Lived in the same dorm as Emma Grunt for a while, but when she graduated he used all the household savings to get a house of his own.
Minnie hardly ever visits. She's too busy flirting with men.
Including Fusco, of course, who unluckily ended up proposing. And she did not find the courage to say no.
The Terranos
Gus belonged to the same fraternity as Mateo. Their other flatmate was Miky, who died so young.
He is a very social dude, and he's got the weirdest acquitances.
Gus is now married to the beautiful Estela (he took her surname because it's cooler) and they are expecting a baby.
The Davis
Aldric and Almeric used to be always together, ever since they were born. Now they live their own lives.
Aldric stays at a cheap apartments building, and has just met a new neighbour -Minnie Pintofreson.
His twin brother Almeric lives in a larger apartment in another building. His job is better and he can afford it.
He just proposed to one of Gunnar Rocamora's official lovers. How is this gonna be resolved? Will she leave Gunnar and marry Almeric? Or will Gunnar convince her of staying by his side?
The Rayolunas
Last but not least, these are the last La Fiesta Tech premades.
They started dating when they were just students, and married after graduating. Now they are parents of a little girl named Estrella.
